 Matthew Gonzales has been
a professional artist in Santa Fe, NM for nearly 20 years.
His paintings, drawings and sculptures are in many private collections.
His love of the figure is movingly expressed in his work.
Winner Of the Best
in Show in the sculpture category in the 2005 and 2008 Contemporary Hispanic
Market, and the Tradicion Revista Excellence in Arts Award in 2008, Matthew also teaches Figure Drawing Classes and raises funds for
art supplies for local Santa Fe elementary schools.
Drawing is the beginning of
all art. "Drawing is thinking out loud - a place to explore
one's ideas and thoughts," Gonzales says. He tries to capture that
"fleeting moment" when one is filled with the gladness of being. |
