Creating a successful
portrait is more than just achieving a good likeness; it is also a
combination of capturing personality as well as designing a beautiful
sculpture that can stand on its own as a work of art.
Process circumstances
may vary, however the following steps are typical:
First sitting: We will
discuss design, size, patina, and base possibilities, once the details are
agreed upon I will take reference measurements and photos. Approx. 1-2
hrs.
Second sitting: I will
have created a rough from my reference: we will then begin the refining
process. Approx. 1-3 hrs.
Third sitting: Further
refining and if necessary, more sitings will be scheduked. Approx. 1-3
hrs.
Upon completion of the
sculpting process, a final approval will be obtained before casting.
Terms and
Pricing Guidelines
Multiple castings:
Artist reserves the right to create an edition of no more than 10 + 1
artists proof. Customer may purchase additional pieces at a reduced
rate (75% original price). Customer receives #1 of the edition.
Finish Options: A
variety of patina options are available. Samples will be shown at
consultation. Base options include rotating or stationary in stone
(marble, granite, etc.), wood: (walnut, oak etc.), or bronze in a variety
of shapes and colors.
Pricing: 50% down,
balance due upon delivery. Pricing based on 3-5 sittings (depending upon
complexity, artist usually requires eight+ hours). Delivery time is 3
months (according to foundry schedule). Finish and base included.
Travel
expenses extra. Once the piece has been approved to be cast, refunds
will not be given.
